It is essential for operators to have in place a number of key aspects:

Safety Regulations,Emergency Procedures & MAPD

The UK’s Pipeline Safety Regulations require operators to have emergency procedures in place. Additionally, operators of Major Accident Hazard pipelines must have a Major Accident Prevention Document. Therefore it is essential that the emergency procedure and MAPD are adequate and up to date.

In addition, operators of gas distribution networks must follow the emergency arrangements set out in the Safety Case. Emergency arrangements must be adequate to ensure the safe operation of the network.
